WUHAN ECO AND SMART CITY PLANNING

Smart City and Eco City are located within Wuhan's Economic and Technological Development Zone (ETDZ), 20 km south-west of Wuhan city. The two towns will host the residential and the Research and Development areas of the EDTZ zone, together with a main core with commercial and leisure functions. The design has been deepened in the 4.7 km² core area, which stretches from the existing lake to the Yangtze riverfront. It has been shaped as a complete city centre with different functions and atmospheres, all connected by a central green corridor that runs through the core from west to east, connecting the city with the river banks. Canals become a landscape feature for retail, working or living areas, while the high-rise is located in a privileged position overlooking the river.
